Two black and yellow clad Hawkeye Fans boarded a flight out of Des Moines bound for Cedar Rapids. One sat in the window seat, the other sat in the middle seat of the same row. Just before take-off, a late arriving Cyclone Fan proudly wearing the red and gold got on the plane and took them aisle seat next to the Bumblebees. He kicked off his shoes, wiggled his toes and was settling in when the Hawkeye Fan in the window seat said "I think I'll get up and get a Coke." "No problem," said the Cyclone, "I'll get it for you." While he was gone, the Hawkeye Fan picked up one of the Cyclone's shoes and spit in it. When the Cyclone Fan returned with the Coke, the other Hawkeye said, "That looks good, I think I'll have one too?" Again, the Cyclone obligingly went to fetch it and while he was gone, the Hawkeye picked up the other shoe and spit in it. The Cyclone soon returned and they all sat back and enjoyed the short flight to Cedar Rapids. As the plane was landing, the Cyclone Fan slipped his feet into his shoes and knew immediately what had happened. "How long must this go on?" the Iowa Stater asked. "This enmity between our two peoples? This hatred? This animosity? This spitting in shoes and pissing in Cokes?"
